Tara Graham

 

Project Management

 

Ms. Graham comes from a background in public health, oncology administration and healthcare marketing. Currently working for the Massachusetts Hospital Association, Tara also has experience in survivorship, with the Lance Armstrong Foundation Adult Survivorship Program at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute; community oncology; and program development.  She has a particular interest in quality assurance, policy improvement, and patient advocacy.

 

Ms. Graham holds a BS in Business Administration and is currently working towards a Masters of Public Health. She is also a member of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) and the  American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE).

Marty Shenk, CMPE

 

Finance & Financial Operations

 

Mr. Shenk is a small business and medical practice financial operations consultant with particular “hands on” expertise in oncology, having  served as practice administrator and financial advisor to small to mid size medical oncology practices as well as ENT, urology and cardiology specialties.  More recently Marty has been involved in the financial architecture and operational conversion of private oncology practice to the hospital-based oncology service line/cancer center setting.

 

Drawing from his 25 years experience in the distribution industry, Marty focuses on the diligent application of the core principles of asset and inventory control and revenue cycle management to minimize wastage and inefficiency

Mr Shenk holds a BA in Management and is a Certified Medical Practice Executive with the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA).

Ronald R. Barkley, MS, JD

 

Business Development

& Operations

 

Mr. Barkley is a healthcare business development and operations officer with leadership expertise in medical group practice; physician network; hospital/health system and ambulatory care environments. Ron is passionate about converting fragmented healthcare services into integrated and accountable systems of care.

Particular areas of interest include the alignment of community oncology group practices with  hospital oncology service lines/cancer centers; the integration and positioning of medical specialists within accountable care organizations (ACOs) and the physician compensation models associated with such practice transitions. 

 

 Ron is experienced in the oncology medical group practice setting having served as Executive Director for a regionally dominant community oncology practice in New England and as the market executive for the organizational re-structuring and practice merger of the Chicago-area practices affiliated with McKesson/US Oncology.

 

 Hospital/Health System experience is derived from serving as managing director of the clinical service businesses of a multi-hospital integrated delivery system in Southern California; as interim CEO charged with the organizational re-structuring of a hospital-affiliated cancer institute in South Florida and from oncologist-hospital alignments in Gulfport, Mississippi and Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Academic Medical Center experience as leader in developing a satellite community cancer center affiliated with Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Boston and a professional services alignment with Loyola Medical Center, Chicago.

 

Mr. Barkley holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences from Michigan State University; a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from California State University and earned his law degree after attending Southwestern University and California College of Law. He is a member of the State Bar of California, the American Health Lawyer’s Association and the Medical Group Management Association. He is Co-Founder and Co-Host of the Cancer Center Business Summit ( www.CancerBusinessSummit.com), a national forum which explores strategies and innovative financial, legal and clinical models for successful alignment of physician and hospital interests in oncology and cancer care delivery.
