Ronald R. Barkley, MS, JD


Mr. Barkley is a healthcare business development and operations advisor experienced in medical group practice, hospital/health system, managed care networks and healthcare corporate settings. Ron specializes in the transaction of physician-hospital business relationships, particularly consolidated oncology service lines and cancer centers and value-based care and associated alternative payment model initiatives in oncology. 

 

Ron has served as Executive Director for a regional oncology medical group practice affiliated with Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Boston. He successfully transacted the business relationship between Dana Farber and the practice, recognized as the forerunner of today’s predominant model of oncologist-hospital alignment. Ron has also served as market executive for the organizational re-structuring of the Chicago-area practices of the McKesson/US Oncology Network and as professional business advisor in oncology practice mergers, acquisitions and oncologist-hospital affiliations in numerous settings nationally. Ron serves as the managing principal of a coalition of community oncology practices exploring bundled pricing of oncology services.

 

Mr. Barkley holds a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration and a Law Degree with emphasis in healthcare transactional and regulatory law. He is a member of the State Bar of California; American Health Lawyer’s Association (AHLA) and the Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC) and is National Co-Chair of the Cancer Center Business Summit (CancerBusinessSummit.com), a thought leadership forum on matters of policy, business strategies and business models for cancer care delivery and alternative payment in today’s value-based paradigm.
